Paradox is one of the best jazz clubs in the Netherlands and seen as the very heart of the jazz ecosystem in Tilburg. During a session that Paradox initiated, Akasha was born. ‘Master’ Pascal Vermeer (drums) came to jam with ‘rookies’ Sjoerd van Eijck (piano), Marijn van de Ven (double bass) and Jesse Schilderink (tenor sax). “It instantly felt special”, says Pascal. “We find common ground in improvisation and love to share ideas while playing or eating or hanging out. The love for music takes us beyond.”
